In May of '95 I departed to Greenville, South Carolina for my flight training of 6 months. I had completed my theory exams before that time and the 6 month training was meant to built hours necessary for a dutch Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and to prepare me for the practical exams for this license.

We had a group of 6 guys, from left to right: Marco, me, Arno, Yuri, Martijn and Kees. Only Yuri had proir flying experience, the rest of us were rookies.

This was our school building (left) with the hangar attached. The fleet existed of C152's and C172's and one Piper Aztec.

Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU), where the school was located (near Greenville Spartanburg Airport, GSP) was mainly visited by general aviation and 'business' aircraft. On this picture you see the tower with a beautifull Beech Starship in front of it.

Accomodations were very good. We had two appartments very near the airport and as you can see we had 3 swimming pools and 4 tennis courts at our disposal. Offcourse there also was a sauna and a jacuzzi. Flying is very hard work after all (or at least it made me sweat a lot....). : ))
